Description

Les Foulées de la Cappadoce, 8 intense days in May 2008

Three million years ago a volcano called Erciyes transformed the region into desert. The intervening millennia have carved deep ravines and valleys in every shade of pink and red. Vertiginous cliffs rear up into citadels, fairy chimneys and needles of tuff. A lunar forest landscape with orchards and vineyards, subterranean villages. This is the heart of Turkey, the Anatolian plateau, the strange, captivating region the Persians called KATPATUKA, meaning “the plain of the horses”.
This is Capadocia.
