A truly extraordinary adventure
Since its creation eight years ago "Foulées de la Soie" has gone from strength to strength – it just shows how the combination of sport and culture in ‘the Middle Kingdom’ has fired your imagination. The world of adventure racing has developed enormously in this time, but the race has now firmly established itself as a classic. I am delighted by this.

China is not just a country. It is a civilisation. One of the aims of the Foulées is to help you make the acquaintance of the country, but at the same time we hope that our enthusiasm will also affect our host country in return. Over the years more than 600 Chinese runners from the many Chinese minorities have joined us along the route. Foulées de la Soie is a journey of mutual discovery.

This 13th Foulées de la Soie will take you from Beijing to Xining in Qinghai Province, and to Xiahe in Ganzu Provine which is home to Tibetans, Hui, Tu, Sala and Mongols, to Xi’an with its famous terra cotta army and then to the Province of Ningxia, where you will be confronted with the dunes of Shapotou. The culmination of the trip will be on the Great Wall. The inspiration for the itinerary may be over 2000 years old, but its charm is eternal. It will remain engraved on your memory forever.
